La Rosa d’Oro, the Golden Rose, was the most prestigious gift that the Catholic Church recognized to a city, a symbol of respect and value. Pope Alexander VII gave Michelangelo Bonci Casuccini the honor of bestowing the Golden Rose to the city of Siena.
Appellation: IGT Toscana Red
Soil: Terrain with clay and sand.
Vinification and aging: Fermentation took place in stailess steel vats and maceration lasted circa 15 days at a controlled temperature of 28°C. Shortly after malolactic fermentation the wine was transferred into barriques for refinements.
Tasting notes: Intense ruby red color. An intense and fruity bouquet. More evident are the accents of mature red fruit, cherries and blackberries. Rosa d’Oro is very round, sweet and soft in the mouth. The finish is characterized by a persistent flavor.
Serving suggestions: White and red meat (both roasts or salted), cheeses and traditional Mediterranean first courses.
Serving temperature: 18°C. Store at a constant temperature of circa 17°C away from light.
